Cold Compress

One way to treat dark circles is by applying a cold compress on them. A cold compress can reduce swelling, which is directly related to dark circles.

Dark circles may be the cause of lack of sleep which can cause puffiness and swollen blood vessels.

A cold compress will constrict the blood vessels and help get rid of the swelling, which will reduce darkness under the eyes.

Fill a bag with ice cubes, let it sit for less than a minute, and put it in your dark circles for about five minutes.

Aloe Vera Gel

Another effective way to remove dark circles is by using aloe vera gel. Aloe vera is rich in vitamin A, which helps to reduce dark circles.

Vitamin A works as an antioxidant that will help prevent free radical damage. Free radicals are “the bad guys” that can cause dark circles by damaging the blood vessels under the eyes.

Aloe vera has plenty of antioxidants and is mild enough for everyday use on your dark circles. Aloe vera gel is commonly used to reduce swelling like dark circles.

Cucumber Juice & Lemon Juice Combination

One of the most inexpensive and natural remedies for dark circles is cucumber juice and lemon juice combination.

Cucumbers contain ascorbic acid, caffeic acid, ferulic acid, and vitamins B1&B2, which will help tighten blood vessels under the eyes that cause darkness.

Lemon also contains ascorbic acid, which tightens skin pores to prevent the dilation of blood vessels under the eyes.

Mix together one tablespoon of cucumber juice with half a teaspoon of lemon juice. Mix well and massage onto your dark circle area for about five minutes before going to bed at night.

Rinse off with cold water in the morning. Do this every day until you notice a difference.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes are rich in vitamin C that will help reduce dark circles. They also contain a high content of lycopene, which is an antioxidant that works to reduce the appearance of dark circles by reducing free radical damage.

Lycopene has been shown to have a higher level in the skin when applied topically and in serum form when ingested orally.

Tomatoes can be used in many different ways besides eating them whole or adding them to salads.

You can add tomato juice to your daily moisturizer if you have dry skin under your eyes.

To use tomatoes as a remedy to treat dark circles, mix tomato juice with cream from milk thistle seeds. Apply it onto your dark circle area and leave it overnight before rinsing off.

Vitamin E Oil

Vitamin E oil is rich in antioxidants and also contains vitamin A which will help reduce dark circles.

When using Vitamin E Oil to treat your under-eye area, massage the oil into the skin around your eyes to help it absorb properly.

Leave on before going to bed at night and wash off in the morning for best results.

Potatoes

The starch in potatoes can help reduce the appearance of dark circles.

Potatoes are an excellent source of vitamin B6, which has been shown to increase blood flow under your eyes, thus reducing darkness.

Simply take one potato and grate it into a bowl. Add two teaspoons of milk to the grated potato and apply it to your dark circle area with a cotton pad.

Let it sit for ten minutes, then rinse off with cold water before going to sleep at night.

Rose Water

Rosewater is commonly used as a toner for your skin because it helps tighten pores. It also contains anti-inflammatory properties, which will help reduce the swelling of dark circles.

Simply dip a cotton pad into rosewater and apply it under your eyes before going to bed at night. Do not rinse off.

Rosewater may burn slightly if you have sensitive skin, but the burning sensation should disappear after about ten minutes.

Do this every day until you notice a difference in the darkness around your eyes.
